It’s a great feeling I get when I’m contacted by a band with a small group of dedicated followers, they’re fairly new on the block, but their music is undoubtedly amazing. Mining Boom are this band. After listening to the first track off their debut release, Dining Room, names like Royal Headache, Boomgates, Total Control and Woollen Kits pop to mind as possible comparisons.
The Melbourne-Via-Perth trio create simple, jangling pop; ‘PDA’ is centered around a driving bass line, punchy guitar and classic lethargic styled vocals. I’m really keen to catch these guys live. I hope good things happen to these dudes.
