Indie-folkish band Beirut are releasing a new single on June 6th, titled East Harlem.
The familiar vocal of lead singer Zach Condon, rhythmic ukulele, piano accordion and various horns all come together to create a ballad-esque track that slowly builds to an understated chorus. The single will also feature an alternate version of this track titled Goshem. Its also worth checking out the live performance here – the la-la-lis add a bit more life to the track.

Beirut started playing this song as a part of their set a few years back but there’s now a studio recording on the interweb, that you can listen to below.

The new album is set for a spring release, so we won’t have to wait too much longer. Seems that it will be an appropriate soundtrack for the warmer months.
